Merry Christmas from Our Desk To Yours!

coller industries incorporated annual employee christmas party with fun prizes and a jugglerColler Industries enjoys spoiling their employees! And we all love accepting it, especially at the annual Christmas party!

Now, don’t get us wrong. We care about our customers too. And part of that caring means that we are always giving back to our clients and our local community. But, it also means that we are regularly returning benefits to our employees and trying to make work as fun (and productive) as possible.

So, every year Coller Industries invites all the staff and their families to an annual Christmas party. This event includes lunch, games, presents and wonderful conversations! And this year, we had a special treat of local juggler Marcus Wilson.

Marcus, Funny Man Who Does Trickscoller industries incorporated annual employee christmas party with fun prizes and a juggler
(Marcus found out long ago) that as long as he was on stage people seemed to enjoy his obnoxious antics. In high school, while working at a restaurant, he learned to juggle with rolls and oranges and fell in love with useless tricks and odd skills. At the age of 22, armed with a handful of these tricks and a desire to entertain, he began doing shows. About five years later, he began performing in comedy clubs. Since then, he has been making his living performing.

As per tradition, the Red Lion Hotel in Salt Lake City hosted the Christmas party. This has been a favorite venue for our annual party for many years. The hotel had an excellent buffet of food for lunch including prime rib and salmon for the adults and macaroni and cheese with chicken fingers for the youngsters. And don’t forget the desserts: cheesecake, chocolate cake and pumpkin pie were all there!

Because, well, we just love name tags! This year all the adults received mugs with our logo on them and a name tag in the shape of either a bell or a tree ornament. Each mug had a handful of candy included. And all the kids who were there received a present chosen just for them.

As employees, we would like to give a special thank you to Coller Industries.

And especially the Coller family and our office manager, Eboni, for providing such an enjoyable activity for their employees. And here’s how we say that thank you!

Kylie (Shipping Clerk): “It was different from previous years, and I really liked that we didn’t do the same thing as before.”

Ramona (Marketing Manager): “The people we work with are such a great group, and it was fun to spend time together outside of work.”

Name Tag Definitions: Part 3

Defining our business helps our customers to understand what we do.

While our FAQ pages are full of your questions, we thought we’d get down to the nitty-gritty for you. Here is part three of our definition series so, find out more about how our business runs with these great definitions for some of our products!

LOGO size and PLACEMENT

Most of our name tags and name badges have the option to use a logo or graphic. However, there are several things to know when providing your logo to be used on your name tags.

Size:

definitions of name tags name badges and other personal identificationTry to limit the amount of detail in your logo. At smaller sizes, incredibly detailed logos are not visible, and many processes have a hard time duplicating it. Provide only enough detail to make the logo recognizable.

The size of your logo on the name tag needs to leave enough room for the names and titles that you wish to provide. Names and logos should be large enough to read from at least 10 feet away.

Placement:

definitions of name tags name badges and other personal identificationFor logos that incorporate an image as well as text, consider just using one or the other. When there is less detail in the logo, it can be placed to fill the entire area allowable on the tag, thus the larger it can be.

Logos that are short and wide look best at the top or bottom center of the tag. Logos that are square, or taller than they are in width, will look better on the left or right side of the tag.

IMAGE BLEED

definitions of name tags name badges and other personal identificationThis feature is only available on our full-color name tags. A bleed means that the background colors of a design may extend off the edges of the tag. The design may bleed on any and all sides of the name tag. If you are creating a tag that will have an image that fills the background area of the tag or meets the edge, you will need to create the background image to the exact size, or larger, of the tag. Keep the corners of your image square even if you plan on rounding them.

Name Plate Holders
A name plate holder will display your name plates on walls, cubicles or desks. Most people simply refer to these products as holders, brackets or sliders. However, none of these terms fully describes the products we offer. A simple way to clear up what you need is to answer the question of where you are putting the name plate.

Our name plate holder products include:

Desk Holders
These simple, curved-style holders will display a name plate on a desk or other flat, horizontal surface. A name plate slides easily into the holder and can be changed as needed.

Wall Mounts
Attach or mount these flat-style holders to a wall or door to display your name plate. By using adhesive or nails/screws, these holders are easy to install. And, your name plate slides into the holder just as easily as a desk holder.

Cubicle Hangers
This clear, plastic holder displays your name plate on your cubicle wall or over a door. The name plate holds in place by the pressure of the flap or can attach to the plastic flap with double-sided tape for a more finished look.

Plastic Desk Bases
With a slanted opening in these flat-style holders, your name plate will stand upright for easy viewing. These are commonly used on desks or other flat, horizontal surfaces.

Other name plate products that we carry:

Reusable Name Plates
Do-it-yourself (DIY) options are all the rage these days! And what better way to do this than with a reusable name plate system. This system consists of four parts: a name plate holder, a metal back plate, a clear printable insert, and a Lexan lens. The metal back plate is engraved with your company or personal logo to identify your brand and unify your name plates in an office or professional setting. The printable insert is clear so as to show the back plate under the printed name. And, the lens slides over the top of everything to keep it all together and give it all a professional, finished look.

Contemporary Name Plates
Designed to complement any decor these name plates are the perfect solution for an office or reception area. This system also consists of four parts: an attachment, a back plate, a printable insert, and a clear lens. These contemporary name plates work much like the reusable name plate system and are just as easy to use. The benefit to the contemporary system is that it comes with interchangeable back attachments. Choose from a wall attachment, a cubicle stand, or a desk stand.

Name Tag Definitions: Part 1

Defining our business helps our customers to fully understand what we do.

While our FAQ pages are full of your questions, we thought we’d get down to the nitty-gritty for you. Here are some definitions of how our business runs. From what a name tag actually is to all the fun and fabulous details of ordering, we want to make this process as easy as possible.

So, what is a name tag or name badge?
definitions of name tags name badges and other personal identification
A name tag or name badge is a piece of plastic, metal or sticker worn on the outermost clothing piece. This provides a means of displaying the wearer’s name for others to view. They are commonly worn in places such as at a grocery store or restaurant so that a customer will know who works there.

Now let’s get some of the more technical definitions out of the way.

Need By Date
We often reference a need by date on our website when a customer is placing an order. This phrase might be confusing. A need by date is the exact date that a customer needs to have the product in hand. While we do our best to match everyone’s need by date, this date is not a guarantee.

Proof
A proof shows an image of one layout of a product. It is intended to be used for a final approval of the product ordered before heading into production. Proofs frequently include a price quote. Proofs are sent to the customer by customer service so that they will go directly into the production process once approved.

Design Worksheet
A design worksheet is only provided when you may not fully know what you are requesting for your design. It may show several variations for a layout and is intended to help narrow down the choice for a customer who is not sure what they want. The customer would look at the design worksheet and indicate which variation they like most. They may also make any changes to it they would like to see. Once a variation is decided upon, it is then sent as a proof for final approval by the customer. Even if the customer approves of a variation on the design worksheet, it will still be followed with a proof so there are no other versions represented on the page with the customer’s written approval.

First Article
A first article allows the customer to obtain one physical sample item of the product being ordered. These are made to the proof’s specifications before the entire order is purchased. These are highly recommended for customers with very detailed specifications.

Introducing: Conference Name Tags

New products are an exciting time here in our office!

Whether it’s name tags, name plates or any other personal identification, here at Coller Industries we are always trying to keep up to date on our customer’s needs and possible want lists. Part of this process is to also keep up with the trends in the personalized identification business.

This month we’d like to introduce you to:
CONFERENCE NAME TAGS

event name tags and name badges conference name tags come in three sizesConference Name Tags are a perfect solution for any meeting planner’s need for inexpensive name badges. Instead of spending time printing inserts and stuffing vinyl name badge holders, we print attendees names on custom laminated badges. An experienced designer will work with you to design a custom badge.

And, as always, we will maintain your layout and order information to make it easy to order name tags for your next meeting, seminar or conference.

Between conventions and conferences, the last thing you need to worry about is personal identification. While adhesive name badges are super easy to deal with, they can also be informal. And sometimes traditional name tags are just a bit too much, and possibly too expensive. While we have many choices to meet every need, this new product provides even further options.

Each conference tag is printed on a heavy card stock for durability and then sealed with lamination. This makes all the name tags have a professional, finished look. These name tags have three available sizes and the larger two have a choice or horizontal or vertical orientations.

Conference name tags come with several fastener choices. Much like other name tags, use magnetic fasteners, swivel bulldog clips or even pins. Try having a hole punched in the top of larger tags and hang them on lanyards.

With a low minimum order quantity at 10,
Conference Name Tags are affordable and easy to order.

  • Small (1.25×3 inch) start at $2.75 for a minimum order.
  • Medium (2.25×3.5) start at $3.00 for a minimum order.
  • Large (3×4 inch) start at $3.50 for a minimum order.

And, as with most of our products, we offer quantity discounts on each size to make these name tags even more affordable for your events.

Add logos, graphics and text to each name tag. Remember that branding at conferences is important for any company or organization. When an event is well organized and branded, it essentially guarantees a good impression. Your event’s first impression is sure to leave a lasting impact on attendees. Whether your conference is big or small, the overall attendee experience needs to be good enough for them to want to come back the next time.

No matter your choice for conference, convention or event name tags, make sure to find something that truly meets your needs. Conference name tags are a perfect solution to meet any need and still provide professionalism.
