Trading Office Noise for Summer Fun

From the noise of machines to the buzz of a social activity, summer is definitely more fun in the sun.

Mondays through Fridays in the Coller Industries building are always noisy. From the ticking of keyboards in marketing to phone calls about orders in customer service, the noise is constant. And the loudest place of all is production and shipping. With the laser machines going full strength and the packing tape being stretched out to wrap each shipment securely, each employee is focused on one thing: our customers.

Last Saturday however, brought a different type of noise. From the creaking of plastic under bare feet in the bounce house to the gentle murmur of a crowd while they attempted to socialize while eating delicious barbecue, Coller Industries’ employees created a unique sound at the annual company barbecue get-together.

As always, the bounce house was a hit with the kids. And someone brought water guns for the kids to play with as well. While the adults chatted away, the kids ran around chasing each other, and everyone had a blast!

The food was just as fantastic as the fun!

Joe Morely’s Bar-B-Q pulled it off again this year. With spare ribs, two types of sliced meat smothered in barbecue sauce, potato salad, macaroni and cheese, baked beans and rolls, the spread was amazing. To finish off the meal was a giant apple pie and a couple of strawberry cheesecakes. Oh, and cookies for the kids who were still chasing each other with the water guns!

While the noise of the office is anything but mundane, it’s always nice to be out with colleagues and to have the variety of the outdoors and social conversations. We want to say thank you to Coller Industries for providing such a wonderful event for their employees. The company works just as hard at keeping their employees happy as the employees do for the customers.

CreelaBelle, Content Writer, said, “I like that we have fun and do things together as a company, but we also try to do our best and make customers happy. It’s the best of both worlds.”

Patrick, Production and Shipping Manager, said, “This was our best barbecue yet! And, having the bounce house was great for the kids. My daughter loved it. But, by far my favorite part of working at Coller Industries is all the cool people I work with.”

Hannah, Customer Service Manager, said, “Even though the free food is always a plus, it’s great to see everyone in a relaxed environment and see all the kids. We have such a great group of employees, and it feels more like we’re friends than coworkers.”

Fun in the Sun with Coller Industries

Summer is always a wonderful time here at Coller Industries!

We’re busy getting out orders and making sure we stay on task so that our customers get what they ordered. But, we also know how to have fun! Every year, Coller Industries throws a Summer BBQ Bash for the employees. And every year it seems just to get better.

The party is held at Germania Park (a local park here in Utah) every year. It’s a great place with plenty of space for all the employees to come and enjoy the food and company. There is always fun for all ages, and the employees were encouraged to bring their families.

This year included a bounce house for the kids and water guns for anyone who wanted to play. We also had fantastic food provided by Joe Morley’s BBQ. The spread they brought was fabulous and fed everyone till they couldn’t eat anymore.

As employees, we would like to give a special thank you to Coller Industries and especially the Coller family for providing such an enjoyable activity for their employees.

Mathew, Web Design and Development, said, “Being with family and friends was the best part. I love being with people that I can socialize with and be comfortable around.”

Lydia, Customer Service, said, “The food was my favorite part because it was all really good and there was nothing I didn’t enjoy.”

Charles, Sample Requests, said, “The ribs were delicious!” He also said, “I think we have an exceptional staff. I work for a very special company who really cares about its employees. And the result is that the employees have developed long lasting relationships.”

Amanda, Solutions Manager, said, “It was really HOT! But, my favorite part would have to be the BBQ. Coller Industries always tries out new and exciting BBQ places every year.”

Merry Christmas from Our Desk To Yours!

Coller Industries enjoys spoiling their employees! And we all love accepting it, especially at the annual Christmas party!

Now, don’t get us wrong. We care about our customers too. And part of that caring means that we are always giving back to our clients and our local community. But, it also means that we are regularly returning benefits to our employees and trying to make work as fun (and productive) as possible.

So, every year Coller Industries invites all the staff and their families to an annual Christmas party. This event includes lunch, games, presents and wonderful conversations! And this year, we had a special treat of local juggler Marcus Wilson.

Marcus, Funny Man Who Does Tricks
(Marcus found out long ago) that as long as he was on stage people seemed to enjoy his obnoxious antics. In high school, while working at a restaurant, he learned to juggle with rolls and oranges and fell in love with useless tricks and odd skills. At the age of 22, armed with a handful of these tricks and a desire to entertain, he began doing shows. About five years later, he began performing in comedy clubs. Since then, he has been making his living performing.

As per tradition, the Red Lion Hotel in Salt Lake City hosted the Christmas party. This has been a favorite venue for our annual party for many years. The hotel had an excellent buffet of food for lunch including prime rib and salmon for the adults and macaroni and cheese with chicken fingers for the youngsters. And don’t forget the desserts: cheesecake, chocolate cake and pumpkin pie were all there!

Each year Coller Industries also provides an employee Christmas gift that always manages to contain a name tag! Because, well, we just love name tags! This year all the adults received mugs with our logo on them and a name tag in the shape of either a bell or a tree ornament. Each mug had a handful of candy included. And all the kids who were there received a present chosen just for them.

As employees, we would like to give a special thank you to Coller Industries.

And especially the Coller family and our office manager, Eboni, for providing such an enjoyable activity for their employees. And here’s how we say that thank you!
