Teaching Tools and Personalizing Your Classroom

Learning is more effective and stimulating when you are using teaching tools that are already in front of you. It is up to teachers and other school staff to ensure every student has the tools they need to learn. When students know what tools they have available and how each works, they are more apt to pay attention and, in the long run, learn what they need to succeed.

Personalizing Your Teaching Tools with customized products like engravable signs, name plates and badge holders for identification.

Why are customizable products great for teaching tools?

By customizing our products to meet your school and classroom needs, you can help improve your instruction time. For example, free up time in your schedule by hanging custom signs with simple instructions so they don’t need to be constantly repeated. Use name tags and name plates to show teachers’ names. And even have badges available for parent volunteers. Here are several of our most popular items that teachers use as teaching tools for their classrooms and schools.

Custom Engravable Signs

Use our engravable custom signs in your classroom today. For example, personalize a custom sign to show your classroom schedule. Or have a sign engraved with other classroom instructions. While these signs are a great teaching tool for the classroom, they work just as well for the rest of the school.

Use them for bell schedules, No Running in the Halls signs and even more. Each engraved sign is available in multiple colors on durable plastic material. This means that you can customize the color to match your school decor or even show some school spirit. Add logos, graphics and text to make your message seen.

Personalized Name Plates

From teachers’ desks and doors to the counselor’s office, name plates can be used everywhere in your school. Not only are name plates great for teachers’ names, but they are also great for identifying different classrooms and other areas in the building.

One of the great parts about custom name plates is adding your logo or school mascot next to names. Or you can use icons to designate closets and other rooms throughout the building. They come in the same durable plastic material as custom signs so that you can match everything in your building.

Badge Holders and Lanyards

Step up your security with personalized badge holders and custom lanyards. With a handy photo and your school’s name printed onto replaceable inserts, badge holders just became your best friend. Using these inserts, you can instantly identify teachers, staff and even visitors quickly by printing any information you need and sliding it into a holder.

Then match the lanyard to your badge. By using colored (and maybe custom imprinted with your school logo), you help your staff and visitors keep their identification handy. Lanyards are also perfect for fundraising events, sporting meets and any other time your school gets together.

Why is making work fun important?

Fun in the workplace can have a positive impact on employees and their productivity. As a manager, you can create a professional environment that your staff members appreciate. As an employee, you can enjoy working at your organization, and you may feel that your supervisors prioritize your mental health. Making work fun has benefits such as:

Boosting Morale: Employees that have fun in the workplace may be in happier moods, which makes the organizational setting more pleasant.

Avoiding Workplace Burnout: With fun activities, employees can relax from their work responsibilities and prevent overexertion.

Increasing Creativity: Employees can practice their hobbies and expand their interests during workplace fun, which may inspire them to apply creativity to their occupational tasks.

Fostering Closer Relationships with Colleagues: Fun work functions can enable employees to get to know one another personally, which can also improve office morale.

Promoting Collaboration: Employees who enjoy fun activities together may also work well together professionally.

Company Retreats

Your team works hard, so use your company retreat as your chance to kick back and relax. A corporate retreat is a chance for employers to affirm the company’s values and speak more candidly about long-term goals. Take your time now to plan all of the activities. This way, you ensure that every guest has an incredible experience from start to finish.

So, what are corporate retreats? Corporate retreats are company events away from the office that focus on specific goals. Retreats are often weekend trips; however, they may also be single-day events. Plan your retreat to provide a break from work routines and a scheduled time to focus on specific objectives. An effective corporate retreat can lead to a boost in production in the future.

Increased morale

Corporate retreats are opportunities for staff members to pause their normal work routines and have fun together. This can help improve morale within your company. Raising morale is often a goal within companies, as employees typically can produce stronger results when they’re feeling happy and satisfied at work. By scheduling corporate retreats throughout the year to keep morale high, you have the potential to raise production throughout the year as well.

Advancing Together with Identification

Summer fun at a corporate retreat is an excellent way for staff members and management to relax. And your aim should be to facilitate bonding and business planning in a relaxed environment. To do this, ensure that your team, one, feels comfortable around each other, and two, knows one another. Enter name tags and identification!

When employees need a little motivation, a little bit of recognition goes a long way. Congratulate them on a job well done with a unique and meaningful plaque. Giving them that recognition while throwing a fun get-together is also a great way to make them feel appreciated.

RIBBON ROLLS

Personalized ribbons are essential at every event. You’ve used them for decorations, and they are always great when branded for networking. This time, use them to encourage teamwork and have some summer fun at your event. Fashion them into awareness ribbons to celebrate a cause or simply to identify different teams. Choose colors and text that match your needs.

“Retreats have often been perceived as junkets that just let people blow off steam and have fun,” says Edward Sullivan, CEO of the executive coaching company Velocity Group. “But in the age of hybrid work, retreats have gone from ‘nice to have’ to ‘must have.’ They’re critical to the culture-building at a company because it’s the time when we come together and create that connective issue as a team.”

Brand vs. Logo (and why magnets are cool)

Brand = a product or service that has a unique and immediately recognizable identity that distinguishes itself from others in its industry.

A company’s brand is what they are, what they want to be, and what they aim to become. It can be a promise of quality, trust or service. A brand is what makes a company or organization truly unique.

Logo = a symbol or other design adopted by an organization to identify its products, uniform, vehicles, etc.

Your logo represents you, your company, your brand and your overall commitment to your clients and customers. And creating consistency by adding your logo to everything you personalize (from name tags to corporate gifts) lets people know you’re proud of what you stand for.

Multiple personalized name tags all with deluxe magnets for fasteners.

Adding a logo to any name tag is an excellent way to maximize branding for your company. Choose from either metal or plastic and customize it to match your work environment and brand. Logos are engraved or printed depending on the style and material you choose. P.S. Don’t forget the magnets!

For many professions, appearance is a crucial factor in this quality. Maintaining your commitment to quality is easy with a uniform and the proper name tag. So whether you choose a daily business attire like a suit and tie or a matching polo shirt for each of your employees, don’t forget that name tag.

From branding to color matching, name tags, like uniforms, help to symbolize your quality. Creating a positive influence with your brand means guaranteeing that all of your business’s services and products are consistent. Employees and customers know when that consistency is not present. Choose name tags that reflect your brand’s commitment to quality. Once accomplishing this, showing that you commit to quality is easy.

5 Design Principles for Logo Usage

Logo Size – A logo’s final size makes a difference. The more detail a logo has, the more difficult it becomes to see at smaller sizes, so a logo that looks great on a name plate may not work as well on a name tag.

Color – Carefully think about the color of your logo and the color of the name tag. If your logo has bright colors, it will not make as much of a statement on an engraved two color tag, but it will look stunning as a UV color printed on plastic or metal or even as a full color plastic tag.

Contrast – No matter where you have your logo, you want to make sure it is highly visible. So, consider the contrast between colors as you choose materials and printing/engraving style. For example, as shown below, pastels on silver can wash out, and on the name plate and tag above, the blues in the logo blend with the chosen material.

Logo Orientation – The shape and orientation of your logo make a difference in where to place it on your product. The horizontal logo on this example works well when placed at the top of the name tag. However, when placed on the right side, it shrinks to a size that isn’t visible. A good rule is that a horizontal logo is best on the top or bottom of your tag design, while a vertical logo is best on the right or left.

Product – Artwork requirements for logos vary by product. For example, a single color vector file is required for some products, while a high quality bitmap or multicolor vector file is required for full color products. Individual order pages will let you know which requirements are required for each product.

Which Name Tag Fastener is Right for You?

You’ve chosen which name tag you want, designed your logo to advertise your brand and made a list of the names you need printed on them. There is still one crucial part of the name tag equation left: choosing a fastener. It isn’t a decision to take lightly, as different occasions and environments call for specific fasteners. Work attire, uniforms and environment need to be taken into consideration. The fastener you choose will directly impact the appearance and wearability of the name tag, so choose carefully!

Fasteners

A full color name tag with someone's first and last name as well as a deluxe magnetic fastener.

Even the fastener on a name tag helps reflect your company’s standards. Each fastener choice we carry only aids in the presentation of your chosen name tags by keeping them fixed firmly to uniforms and other employee attire. Our Deluxe Magnetic Fasteners hold through thick material and multiple layers of clothing, making them our most popular choice. Everything we offer not only is permanently attached to each name tag, but it will help your high quality image stand out from your competition.

Why are magnets trendy?

Deluxe magnets shown on the back of a personalized name tag.

Our most popular fastener choice is the deluxe magnetic fastener.

This fastener consists of two parts: a metal plate with indentations, which holds the magnet in place and adheres to the back of most name tags, and a plastic bar that has two strong magnets, which holds in place through multiple layers of clothing.

There are many types of fasteners to go with your name tag. These include deluxe magnets, pins, swivel bulldog clips, pocket clips and more. Deluxe magnets have become more popular for name tags because they do not puncture clothing with pins. Name tags can also be worn around the neck using a lanyard.

Providing high quality name tags at networking events is a minor detail that makes a big difference. They are worth the extra money. When we host networking events for hospitality industry professionals, we invest in high quality name tags that stick to clothing using a magnet instead of those with a pin. We’ve learned that people don’t always want to put a pin through their clothes and that using high quality magnetic name tags elevates the perceived quality of the event.

The final thing to cover is the fastener choice. Most name tags come with multiple options, but be careful with these. Don’t order a lanyard to go with an adhesive name badge! It just wouldn’t work. Be smart about the choice. While magnetic fasteners are popular, pins or clips might be more appropriate for your situation. Always think of how and where you are wearing the name tag before making the final selection on a fastener.
